The Zinfandel grape varietal is also called Primativo and it's cultivation can be traced back 6000 years in the Puglia region of Italy and in Croatia. It is a hardy vine, able to handle chilly winters and warm summer days. Depending on where it is grown, flavors of raspberry, blackberry, anise and pepper can be detected. Mr. Zinfandel is happy to grow where he is planted, showing off his turning leaves and ripening fruit.
