This painting is based on a photo I shot while hanging out of a bus on the way back to Santa Marguerita from Portofino. The waterside of an ancient villa had a large wooden door that led out to a stone walkway along the sea. Golden afternoon light strikes the stone walls, highlighting its rustic personality
